“Art gives me the power to express what others cannot see.”
For artists like Sinead, art is a way of expressing the physical and emotional challenges of their condition.
Expression Days. A showcase of powerful art created by people living with an autoimmune disease, expressing their unseen symptoms & struggles.
We celebrate their bravery, resilience to overcome challenges with their condition, and their inspiring creativity.
Watch our new Expression Days docufilm to hear firsthand from artists and key experts in art & health about what it is like to live with an autoimmune disease, the importance of art as a benefit to health, along with the transformation of top public-voted artworks from our virtual art gallery, from 2D pieces to larger-than-life figures.
This is their reality, their art, their expression.
“Creativity and especially art helped me a lot dealing with my autoimmune disease. I want to inspire others by creating my art.” – Liesbeth, artist living with lupus and psoriasis arthritis
Discover art created by those living with an autoimmune disease at our virtual art gallery.
The exhibition not only symbolises the all-encompassing impact autoimmune diseases can have on a person’s body and mind, but the continued strength and inspirational creativity of the people living with them.
Expression Days by Fresenius Kabi gives people with autoimmune diseases a new opportunity to raise awareness of how their conditions affect their lives and how it makes them feel, through art.
People living with autoimmune diseases from across the globe have taken part in Expression Days, bravely submitting artwork to our virtual gallery.
We’re humbled by the response, with inspirational artworks submitted from over 12 countries from people living with a range of autoimmune diseases, including but not limited to multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s, psoriasis, Sjögren's syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis. We thank you!
“Have courage, take the risk of vulnerability, tell your story through your art.”
– Michelle Wood, art therapist
