WHAT IS EXPRESSION DAYS?

Expression Days by Fresenius Kabi gives people with autoimmune diseases a new opportunity to raise awareness of their condition, by using art to express how it affects their lives and how it makes them feel.

We have received submissions from over 12 countries across Europe from people living with a range of autoimmune conditions including but not limited to multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s, psoriasis and Sjögren's syndrome. The response we have had has been truly incredible so thank you all.

We’re humbled to help increase awareness of these conditions through Expression Days.

WHAT ARE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES?

Autoimmune diseases are caused when the immune system, which helps to keep us healthy by fighting infections, attacks the body’s own cells. This can cause patients to experience lots of different symptoms.

There are many types of autoimmune disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease. They can affect different parts of the body, including the joints, skin and gut, which can make normal things in life difficult for patients.

This means that autoimmune diseases are more than just physical diseases – they have emotional effects that can often go unnoticed by those around patients, including their doctors.
